1. Information We Collect
StickerCut does not require an account, and never asks for your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information. We use the following services, each collecting only limited, anonymized technical data:
- Firebase Anonymous Authentication — assigns your device a random, anonymous ID (not linked to your name, email, or any personal information) the first time you use AI sticker generation or a Premium feature. This ID exists solely to enforce daily AI generation limits and to track Premium subscription status — nothing else.
- Firebase Firestore — stores, keyed to that anonymous ID: how many AI stickers you've generated today, and whether you have an active Premium subscription (and its expiration date). No prompts, images, or personal information are stored here.
- Firebase Cloud Functions — the backend that powers AI sticker generation and verifies subscription purchases. See "AI Sticker Generation" and "Subscriptions" below.
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymized usage data such as which screens are viewed, which features are used, app version, device model, and operating system version.
- Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports including the device state, app state, and stack trace at the time of a crash. This data does not include your photos or any personal information.
We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any personally identifiable information.
2. Photos & Images
StickerCut requests access to your photo library solely to allow you to select an image to edit. Specifically:
- Images you select are loaded directly on your device and are never uploaded to any server.
- All AI processing (background removal, shape crop, outline generation) is performed entirely on-device — using Apple's Core ML framework on iOS, and ONNX Runtime on Android.
- When you export a sticker, it is saved to your photo library or a folder you choose — again, only on your device.
- We have no access to any images you process.
3. On-Device AI Processing
Background removal is powered by the U2Net model running locally — via Core ML on iPhone and iPad, and via ONNX Runtime on Android devices. No image data is ever sent to external servers for processing.
4. AI Sticker Generation (iOS)
When you describe a sticker idea for AI to generate, here's exactly what happens:
- Your text prompt — and only your text prompt, never a photo — is sent to our backend (Firebase Cloud Functions).
- The prompt is checked for trademarked characters or brand names, then passed to Anthropic (Claude) to refine it into an image-generation prompt, and to fal.ai to generate the resulting image.
- The generated image is returned to your device. It is not stored on our servers after generation.
- This request is tied only to your anonymous device ID (see Section 1), never to your name, email, or any personal information.
AI-generated images may be inaccurate or may resemble existing trademarked characters despite our filtering — you are responsible for how you use generated designs, including compliance with Etsy and other marketplace policies.
5. Subscriptions (App Store & Google Play)
StickerCut Premium is an auto-renewing subscription — via Apple's StoreKit framework on iOS, and via Google Play Billing on Android. When you subscribe:
- The transaction and billing are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your payment information (card number, billing address, etc.).
- On iOS, your device sends Apple's cryptographically signed transaction receipt to our backend, which verifies it directly against Apple's servers and records your subscription status (active/expired, product, expiration date) against your anonymous device ID.
- Apple also notifies our backend directly (App Store Server Notifications) when a subscription renews, is cancelled, refunded, or revoked, so your Premium status stays accurate even if you don't reopen the app. We keep a log of these notification events (type, timestamp, and anonymous device ID) for troubleshooting and fraud prevention.

6. Firebase Analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with StickerCut. This helps us identify which features are most useful and where improvements are needed. Firebase Analytics collects:
- Screen views and feature usage events (e.g., "background removed", "sticker exported")
- Device model, operating system version (iOS or Android), and app version
- Session duration and general usage patterns
- A randomly generated instance ID (not linked to your identity)
Firebase Analytics does not collect your name, email, photos, or location. On Android, StickerCut does not use the Advertising ID: the AD_ID permission is removed from the app and advertising-ID collection is disabled in Firebase. Data is processed by Google and subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Firebase Crashlytics
We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to detect and diagnose app crashes. When the app crashes, Crashlytics automatically sends a report containing:
- The crash stack trace (which line of code caused the crash)
- Device model, operating system version (iOS or Android), and app version
- App state at the time of the crash (e.g., available memory, foreground/background)
- A randomly generated installation ID
Crash reports do not contain your photos, personal information, or any content you have created. Data is processed by Google and subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
8. Children's Privacy
StickerCut does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not contain any data collection mechanisms targeting children, making it safe for all ages.
9. Third-Party Services
StickerCut uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics) — backend infrastructure, anonymous usage limits, subscription verification, usage analytics, and crash reporting. Google Privacy Policy
- Anthropic (Claude) — refines and safety-checks your text prompt before AI sticker generation (iOS only). Receives only the prompt text, never a photo or personal information. Anthropic Privacy Policy
- fal.ai — generates the AI sticker image from the refined prompt (iOS only). Receives only the prompt text. fal.ai Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store — app distribution, subscription billing, and payment processing on iOS. Apple Privacy Policy
- Google Play — app distribution and payment processing on Android. Google Privacy Policy
We do not integrate with any advertising networks or social media SDKs, and we do not use the Advertising ID on either platform.
10. Data Retention
Analytics and crash data collected via Firebase is retained by Google for up to 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. Daily AI usage counters reset every day and are not kept long-term. Subscription status (active/expired, expiration date) is kept for as long as it's needed to enforce your entitlement, tied only to your anonymous device ID. AI-generated images are not stored on our servers after they're returned to your device. Sticker files you create remain solely on your device and are subject to your own storage management.
11. International Data Transfers
Firebase, Anthropic, and fal.ai data is processed on servers that may be located in the United States or other countries. By using StickerCut, you consent to the transfer of this anonymized technical data (and, for AI sticker generation, your prompt text) to this infrastructure. These providers maintain appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection law.
12. Your Rights
We do not collect personally identifiable information, so there is no personal profile to access, correct, or delete. Your anonymous device ID and its associated usage/subscription data can be reset by reinstalling the app. If you wish to remove sticker files, delete them from your photo library or the folder you saved them to.
13. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through an app update. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
